Benefits of an Asset Management Policy

“"[The Policy has] definitely been a tool that we've been able to reference back to, including when we brought the Asset Management plan to council with recommended funding levels. The Policy really was a way in which to remind ourselves administratively and with council, as to what we committed to in those policies and what our goals are."”

Melissa Osborne, Senior Manager of Asset Planning at City of Windsor

“"Building our Asset Management Policy with icInfrastructure has given us a new perspective on Asset Management. With the guidance from icInfrastructure we were able to get our team focusing on the positive benefits of AM instead of the negative consequences. This Asset Management Policy really helped shape our program into the solid state it's in today."”

Alex Shepherd, Infrastructure Asset Manager at County of Grande Prairie

“"I think one of the key benefits of the policy is also as a communications tool...By having clearly defined principle statements it helped to bring our staff and council on board with Asset Management. Everyone could see what Asset Management is, and which AM Principles were going to move us forward as an organization."”

Tami Rothery, Former Sustainability/Alternative Energy Coordinator at District of Summerland
